What Are Ball Valves?
A ball valve is a shut-off valve used to control the flow of water or other liquids and gas. Each valve has a rotary ball with a bored-in hole which connects to its outer handle, commonly a lever-type one. This lever rotates the ball in a 90 degree, quarter-turn around its axis which allows the water or gas to flow in or out.
Ball valves are designed to last a very long time and are reliable seals, which makes them more popular than gate valves. Since they are more resistant to corrosion and contamination, ball valves are also used in other industries like chemical, pharmaceutical and even wastewater and corrosive material processing.
Elson produces high-quality water and gas plumbing ball valves made out of brass and are free of any lead.
